NB: Saw this unfinished post in my Drafts section - even though the dates won't match up I still wanted to post it up. It's funny reading it back, I had no clue then I was going to give birth at the end of that week!!

This week has been quite eventful! Work has been really good and not too busy, which I'm glad for! I've decided to finish up at the end of my 37th week instead of pushing it to the end of my 38th week. Who knows bubba might be here by then?!! I guess that's what main reason for changing the dates were - I really don't want to be far from home/at work and go into labour and also it will be good to have a few weeks off before he arrives so it's not going straight from work into baby duties.
Back to this week - we had our 36 week midwife appointment, it was all fine thankfully but they have recommended we see a consultant next Tuesday as they think bubba is measuring quite big. 41cms in fact! Where he should be about 2cms either side of 36, so 34 or 38cm? I'm not sure about all this because a lot of women have been measured before as 'big' and their babies have come out smaller than expected. But I'm glad they are keeping an eye on him - and we'll see if I will need to be induced or not?!
If I am induced and that's what's decided, then the decision is taken out of my hands of where to give birth. I won't be too disappointed I guess as I'm still in two minds where's the best place.

Hello Oscar
Bubba!! You are are here!! Safe and sound thank God!!
I went into labour on your Lola's birthday! The 29th April, but you put mummy through it and about 20hrs later you were born on Monday 30th April 2018, 00:58am.
You weighed 6lbs 130z - a big boy considering you were 3 weeks early!
But you were considered full term as you were born 37 weeks so all ok :)
You also have a name now :) We chose Oscar Jaxon for you and it suits you down to a T! You're the sweetest bubba but can be feisty lol Mummy & Daddy are loving getting to know you're sweet and funny personality - love you so much Bubba xxx
7 weeks postpartum
My my!! How time has flown! Only now - 7 weeks after my gorgeous bubba was born, have I been able to/feel up to updating this blog. So much has happened and I have learnt so much that it feels a lot longer than 7 weeks of living my new life as a mum.
Mum....still not quite used to being one, let alone being called one! It's crazy how you just have to get on with it as soon as you give birth. There's no break from it and it's completely overwhelming, but somehow it feels normal and somehow I just seem to know what I'm doing with him.
One day soon I'll write up my birth story - just to get it out in words for myself. It would be good to reflect on what happened and how I felt - it's a experience that will never happen the same again.
You can prepare yourself during pregnancy, prepare for the birth and labour etc but you can never ever prepare for the pain!! ahhhh lol to be continued.
